What you will need

  • 40g Scottish oats
  • 250ml milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 pear, peeled, halved and cored
  • 500ml water
  • 4 tbsp Rowse Honey
  • 1 vanilla pod, sliced lengthways, 4 star anise, 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 2 tbsp whole fresh blackberries
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • Put the oats in a non-stick pot with the milk and salt, and cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes until thickened and the oats are soft. Turn the heat off.
  • Place all the ingredients for the poached pear in a pot, bring to the boil and cover. Leave to cook for 15 minutes or until the pear is cooked through. Drain, leave to cool and slice the pear. (This can be done the night before – keep the pear in the fridge overnight).
  • Pour the oats into a bowl, add the pear slices, the blackberries, the chia seeds and drizzle over the Rowse Honey.
