Shelina Permalloo’s Rowse honey & banana porridge squares

These life saving porridge squares are perfect for when you’re on the run. Make at the weekend and they’ll last you all week; packed full of energy, dairy and gluten free… the perfect breakfast on the go!

Using the Rowse Clear Squeezy Honey brings out the natural sweetness from the bananas which contrast so well with the bitter dark chocolate. Everybody will be fighting over the last square!

Ingredient title

  • 200g oats
  • 2 medium sized over ripe banana mashed up
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 80g Rowse Clear Squeezy Honey
  • Pinch of Malden salt
  • 80ml coconut oil
  • 50g chocolate chip (dairy free)
  • Optional: Chocolate chip melted to drizzle over after cooked

 

  • Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees.
  • Mix all ingredients together until thoroughly combined.
  • Place into a 9x9inch silicone square brownie tin and press down until smooth.
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before turning out onto a chopping board and cutting into 9 squares. Allow to cool completely before drizzling over with some extra chocolate if using.
