These beautiful baklava are decadent filled with dark chocolate and walnuts to give extra sweetness. The Greek honey is the perfect partner in crime for the dark chocolate and walnuts. Such an easy recipe that you will want to make more!

    To make the syrup, mix the sugar and water together in a medium sized saucepan and ring to a boil over med/high heat for 5 – 10minutes. Switch off the heat and add in the honey, lemon juice and salt and leave to one side.

    Melt the oil and butter together and set aside.

    Using a 12inchx9inch baking tray lay down 7 sheets of filo pastry. Pour over 1/3 of the butter/oil mixture. Tumble in the walnuts and the chocolate then cover with a further 7 sheets of filo (make sure you use all the offcuts too you can lay these underneath before placing the whole sheets). Cut the baklava into approximately 30 rectangles then pour over the rest of the butter/oil mixture.

    Bake in the preheated oven at 180C for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Remove from oven and gently pour over the syrup and allow to sit overnight. In the morning place into an airtight container and eat within 5 days. Before serving drizzle over some chocolate and allow to harden before serving.
